Al Nasr Held by Shabab Al Ahli in ADIB Cup

Al Nasr drew 1-1 with hosts Shabab Al Ahli on Friday evening at Rashid Stadium, in the second round of the ADIB Cup.

The Blue Wave made a strong start and took the lead in the 11th minute through Australian international Ajdin Hrustic, who finished well after a cross into the box to give Al Nasr the advantage going into half-time.

Al Nasr stayed in front despite growing pressure from the home side, showing good defensive organisation and discipline as Shabab Al Ahli enjoyed more possession.

Both teams continued to push in the second half, with the match remaining tight until the final moments. Matheus Lima eventually scored the equaliser for Shabab Al Ahli with a header in the fifth minute of stoppage time, as the game ended 1-1.

The result takes Al Nasr to four points after two matches in the competition.
